Banknote counterfeiting is on the increase as credit card security improves. The £20 note is a particular target for forgers. Counterfeit banknotes are confiscated and are not reimbursed by the bank. To maintain profitability, it is therefore essential that they are refused at the point-of-sale. Tellermate’s counterfeit detector PoundMate prevents you from accepting any forgeries in the future.
PoundMate feeds notes automatically, testing notes quickly and displaying their value. Checking security features, which have not been successfully forged to date, PoundMate detects the presence of the security thread and decodes the unique magnetic codes it contains.
A green light and audio signal confirm the authenticity of banknotes. Running from mains supply, or internal rechargeable battery, PoundMate automatically switches to standby when not in use. PoundMate is extremely simple to use and gives excellent results. PoundMate is also dual currency enabled with the facility to detect all counterfeit £ and € notes on the same platform.
