NBS Horizon^® Series

The NBS Horizon ^® Series is a high-volume high-speed card personalization system engineered with individual CPE's to provide flexibility and customization to meet your specific requirements. With the introduction of CPE's, the Horizon allows for expansion to your unit even at a later date.

This way, your Horizon will grow as your business grows. The Horizon is designed to meet card issuance needs of financial institutions, service bureaus, insurance companies, government and healthcare organizations, retail and telecommunications companies.

Individual CPE's (card personalization elements) are built to match your exact needs, including embossing, front and rear indenting, tipping, magnetic stripe encoding, both front and rear monochrome/color graphics printing, labeling, and smart card initializing (both contact and contactless). Depending on your configuration, your Horizon can reach throughput speeds of up to 1,000 cards per hour.

For optimum productivity and simplicity of operation, the Horizon uses a standard Pentium® PC and its Windows® based NBS Conquest Series™ Software for easy card design and data input flexibility. Add the HZM Mailer to make your Horizon a complete card issuance system.

Mid-volume Card Issuance

HZM Mailer
The NBS Horizon has been your reliable central issuance solution for many years and its evolution continues as NBS addresses the need of our customers. The latest solution gives the Horizon the ability to be a end to end solution. The HZM mechanically interfaces to the rear of the Horizon allowing a blank card to go in one end and a sealed envelope with a card and carrier, out the other.

The HZM consists of 3 main components

• Affixer- Card exits the Horizon with extended track that goes beyond the stackers and into the HZM Mailer unit, more specifically, the Affixer.
  The affixer transports the card into the device that reads the electronic ID which is typically magnetic stripe, but can be smart chip or barcode reader and sends it to the affixer's PC. The HZM is either Offline OR Online. It is about a 10-minute transition to go between the two.
   

• Carrier Printer- a heavy duty laser printer that prints a carrier based on the information sent it by the Affixer's PC. This carrier can have both fixed and variable information unique to the customer the card is going to. The carrier is sent into the Affixer where the card is attached via a double sided label.
   

• Folder Inserter- the personalized carrier with the card(s) attached is then passed to the folder/inserter where it is folded and inserted into a windowed envelope with other inserts (if the optional insert feeder is installed). The inserter then seals the envelope and it is ready for posting.

The HZM is another in a long line of Horizon additions that provide you the customer a cost effective personalization solution.
